Phrynobatrachus afiabirago Ofori-Boateng, Leaché, Obeng-Kankam, Kouamé, Hillers, and Rödel, 2018, Zootaxa, 4374: 565. Holotype: Holotype. UWBM 05925, by original designation. Type locality: "Atewa Range, Ghana, 6.24246°N, -0.5571°E (date = WGS84), 769 m asl".

English Names

None noted. 


Currently known from only two localities in the Ghanaian forest zone; the Atewa Range in southeastern Ghana and the small (0.5 ha) Jukwa forest, situated near the Kakum National Park in south-western Ghana, although expected to be more widespread.  


The sister taxon of Phrynobatrachus gutturosus according to the original publication.
