Distribution

Lowlands of New Guinea; extending westwards to the islands of Timor, Halmahera, Seram, Buru, and Talaud Island; eastwards to New Ireland, Bismarck Archipelago, and south to the Aru Islands and Cape York Peninsula, Queensland, Australia; introduced into Java.
