Proceratophrys sanctaritae Cruz and Napoli, 2010, Zootaxa, 2660: 59. Holotype: UFBA 8487, by original designation. Type locality: "Santa Rita forest (13° 04′ S, 39° 38′ W, 800 m above sea level), Serra do Timbó mountain, Municipality of Amargosa, State of Bahia, Brazil".

Distribution

Known  from the type locality in the Serra do Timbó, Amargosa Municipality, and 100 km to the south to Jequié and Wenceslau Guimarães  Municipalities, Bahia, Brazil, 560–960 m elevation.

In the Proceratophrys appendiculata complex according to the original publication. Bastos and Zina, 2022, Herpetol. Notes, 15: 365–376, reported the species from Morro de Mara, Jequié Municipality, Bahia, Brazil, and briefly discussed its range and conservation status. Almeida, Bastos, Abreu, Nova, Dias, and Zina, 2022, Check List, 18: 1243–1247, provided new records from Bahia, Brazil, and discussed habitat and conservation status.
