Proceratophrys pombali Mângia, Santana, Cruz, and Feio, 2014, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, N.S., Zool., 531: 20. Holotype: CFBH 15982, by original designation. Type locality: "Municipality of Itanhaém (24º 11’ S; 46º 47’ W, SAD69 datum, 70m a.s.l.), State of São Paulo, Brazil"; corrected to "Núcleo Curucutu do Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar (24°2′ 18.97″ S, 46°46′ 36.77″ W; 70 m asl), municipality of Itanhaém, São Paulo, Brazil", by Malagoli, Mângia, and Haddad, 2016, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 11: 21. 

Distribution

Known only from the central portion of the Serra do Mar of the state of São Paulo, including the municipalities of Itanhaém, Mongaguá, and Santos, all in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. 

Comment

Previous confused with Proceratophrys melanopogon according to the original publication. Malagoli, Mângia, and Haddad, 2016, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 11: 18–24, reported on advertisement call, distribution, and natural history.
