Proceratophrys mantiqueira Mângia, Santana, Cruz, and Feio, 2014, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, N.S., Zool., 531: 12. Holotype: MNRJ 82573, by original designation. Type locality: "Parque Estadual da Serra do Brigadeiro (20° 53’ S, 42° 52’ W, SAD69 datum, ca. 1300m a.s.l.), District of Careço, Municipality of Ervália, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil".

Distribution

In the Atlantic Rain Forest and is distributed along the Serra da Mantiqueira mountain range, on the south and southeast State of Minas Gerais, and south of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Comment

Confused with Proceratophrys melanopogon prior to its naming according to the original publication. Provete, Guimarães, Ouchi-Melo, and Rossa-Feres, 2017, Copeia, 2017: 46–52, reported on larval morphology.
