Mus., Ed. 2: 329; holotype is BMNH 1947.2.20.5 (formerly 41.2.216) by museum records according to Parker, 1940, Novit. Zool., 42: 93, and M.J. Tyler IN Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 404. Type locality: "Western Australia".

Breviceps Heliogabali Gray, 1841, in Grey (ed.), J. Two Exped. Discovery NW and W. Aust., 2(App. E): 436. Holotype: Specimen illustrated in pl. 1, fig. 1 (as Breviceps gouldii on plate). Type locality: "Western Australia". Named coined as a synonym of Breviceps gouldii Gray, 1841. Synonymy by Parker, 1940, Novit. Zool., 42: 92.

Distribution

Southwestern Western Australia from Kalbarri National Park in the north, south and east to Morowa, Quairading, Southern Cross, and Grass Patch.
