Comment

The sister taxon of Crinia tasmaniensis according to Read, Keogh, Scott, Roberts, and Doughty, 2001, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 21: 294. See brief account by Tyler and Knight, 2009, Field Guide Frogs Aust.: 110-111. The species name "nimbus" is a noun in apposition and does not change with the change in generic gender. Cutajar, Portway, Gillard, and Rowley, 2022, Tech. Rep. Aust. Mus. Online, 36: 13, provided a polygon distribution map.
