Comment

See account, photograph, and map for Vietnam in Vassilieva, Galoyan, Poyarkov, and Geissler, 2016, Photograph. Field Guide Amph. Rept. Lowland S. Vietnam: 84–87. Poyarkov, Nguyen, Duong, Gorin, and Yang, 2018, PeerJ, 6 (e5771): 1–27, discussed the taxonomic status of this species and provided molecular evidence for its distinctiveness. See comments by Das, Garg, Hamidy, Smith, and Biju, 2019, PeerJ, 7(e7012): 25–26. Miller, Zug, Wogan, Lee, and Mulcahy, 2021, Ichthyol. & Herpetol., 109: 245–257, reported on mtDNA phylogenetics and confirmed that nominal Micryletta inornata is composed of multiple cryptic species; they also suggested that the distinctiveness of Micryletta erythropoda from Micryletta lineata requires genetic confirmation. Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 42, mentioned having unpublished mtDNA data that confirm the species' presence in Cambodia.
