Biju, 2001, Occas. Publ. Indian Soc. Conserv. Biol., 1: 9, noted the presence of this species in Kerala. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. Ghats: 70. Seshadri, Priti, Ravikanth, Vidisha, Vineeth, Singal, Sarma, and Gururaja, 2916, Zootaxa, 4208: 547–560, redescribed the species, provided a number o range extensions, and reported on the advertisement call.
