Distribution

Extreme western Sarawak (Malaysia) and adjacent northwestern Kalimantan (Indonesia) in western Borneo, above 1000 m elevation.

Geographic Occurrence

Natural Resident: Indonesia, Malaysia, Malaysia, East (Sarawak and/or Sabah)

Comment

Similar animals were reported by Dring, McCarthy, and Whitten, 1990, Indo-Malayan Zool., 6: 119-132, from Siberut and Sipona Island. See map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 452. Zug, 2015, Proc. California Acad. Sci., Ser. 4, 62: 176, provided an account and revised the range statement. See comment under Kalophrynus calciphilus, which was confused with this species prior to 2011.
