Chiasmocleis centralis Bokermann, 1952, Pap. Avulsos Zool., São Paulo, 10: 274. Holotype: MZUSP 7547, by original designation. Type locality: "Aruanã, Estado de Goiás, Brasil".

Central Humming Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 88).


Known only from the type locality in Goiás, Brazil.


In the original publication, Bokermann suggested that Chiasmocleis centralis is allied with Chiasmocleis shudikarensis, but Carvalho, 1954, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 555: 11, suggested affinity with Chiasmocleis albopunctata.
