Stumpffia miery Ndriantsoa, Riemann, Vences, Klages, Raminosoa, Rödel, and Glos, 2013, Zootaxa, 3636: 579. Holotype: ZMB 77453, by original designation. Type locality: "Madagascar, Ranomafana region, Ambolo forest fragment, S 21° 15.752′, E 047° 30.412′ (site name: FFst04), app. 660 m a.s.l., near a small stream".

Known from three localities in the Ranomafana region of southeast-central Madagascar: (1) Ambolo forest fragment (type locality), (2) Andalangina, near Ifanadiana, and (3)  Ambohitsara.
