Rhombophryne matavy D'Cruze, Köhler, Vences, and Glaw, 2010, Herpetologica, 66: 183. Holotype: ZSM 1628/2008, by original designation. Type locality: "rainforest (12° 27′ 46″ S, 49° 13′ 24″ E, 482 m above sea level), Forêt d’Ambre Special Reserve, Antsiranana Province, northern Madagascar".
