Rev., 33: 61, discussed the range in Madagascar and previous erroneous records from northern Madagascar in the sense of including Anodonthyla pollicaris as a synonym. Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3: 142-143, provided an account in the sense of including Anodonthyla pollicaris as a synonym. Vences, Glaw, Köhler, and Wollenberg, 2010, Contrib. Zool., Amsterdam, 79: 20-21, provided an account and noted an likely species, unnamed, which they referred to as Anodonthyla sp. aff. boulengeri 'Ranomafana' in the lower elevations of the Ranomafana forests,
