Liophryne rubra Zweifel, 2000, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 253: 65. Holotype: UP 9361, by original designation. Type locality: "Western Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea, about 3 km east of Mt. Opio (5° 35′ 51″ S, 144° 47′ 25″ E) at an elevation of 2180 m".
