Oreophryne habbemensis Zweifel, Cogger, and Richards, 2005, Am. Mus. Novit., 3495: 16. Holotype: ZMB 65123, by original designation. Type locality: "Lake Habbema, 3000-3500 m, ca. 4 km S, and 32 km W of Wamena, Papua, Indonesia".

Asterophrys habbemensis — Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 521, by implication.

Known only from the type locality (Lake Habbema, 3000-3500 m elevation, ca. 4 km S and 32 km W of Wamena, Papua [New Guinea], Indonesia).
