Cophixalus cryptotympanum Zweifel, 1956, Am. Mus. Novit., 1766: 36. Holotype: AMNH 56842, by original designation. Type locality: "at an elevation of 1370 meters on the north slope of Mt. Dayman, Maneau Range, Territory of Papua [Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea]".
