Choerophryne pipiens Günther, Richards, and Tjaturadi, 2018, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 68: 110. Holotype: MZB Amph.11976, by original designation. Type locality: "'Bog Camp', Foja Mountains, Papua Province, Indonesia (2°34.36’S, 138°43.03’E, ~1600 m above sea level [a.s.l.])". Junior secondary homonym of Cophixalus pipilans Zweifel, 1980, when both are in Asterophrys

Asterophrys pipiens — Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 477, by implication.

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Foja Mountains, Papua Province, Indonesia) in extremely wet mossy lower montane forest at about 1600 m elevation.
