Distribution
Known only from the type locality at Zhangmo, Nyanang, Xizang, China, on the central Nepal border, 1000 m elevation; presumably to be found in adjacent Nepal.

Closely related to Megophrys minor according to the original publication. Fei, 1999, Atlas Amph. China: 124, provided a brief account, figure, and map.
