Literature prior to 2019 for Borneo should be included with caution in the range inasmuch as the concept of Megophrys nasuta prior to that year also included the high-elevation Bornean species Megophrys kalimantanensisMegophrys nasuta was removed from the synonymy of Megophrys montana by Taylor, 1962, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 43: 284–287, where it had been placed by Inger, 1954, Fieldiana, Zool., 33: 223; Inger, 1966, Fieldiana, Zool., 52: 39–46 (but who recognized it as distinct later: Inger and Tan, 1996, Raffles Bull.
