Comment

Removed from the synonymy of Leptobrachium hasseltii by Inger, 1983, in Rhodin and Miyata (eds.), Adv. Herpetol. Evol. Biol.: 16. See Dubois and Ohler, 1998, Dumerilia, 4: 25–26, who tentatively including Thailand specimens in this species. See comments by Inger, Orlov, and Darevsky, 1999, Fieldiana, Zool., N.S., 92: 4. See account by Matsui, Nabhitabhata, and Panha, 1999, Japan. J. Herpetol., 18: 19–29, who noted that records from Thailand all apply to other species. See brief account and photo by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 74–75. Stuart, 2005, Herpetol. Rev., 36: 474, noted that the report for Laos by Stuart, 1999, in Duckworth et al. (eds.), Wildlife in Lao PDR: 44, was based on specimens of Leptobrachium chapaense. Stuart, Rowley, Tran, Le, and Hoang, 2011, Zootaxa, 2804: 25–40, discussed the species and its distinctiveness from Leptobrachium leucops. See comment under Leptobrachium mouhoti. Wogan, 2012, Zootaxa, 3415: 33, noted that the previous record of Leptobrachium pullum from Myanmar (Karin, Pego, Taninthari) are not referable to this species. See brief account, photograph, and map in Vassilieva, Galoyan, Poyarkov, and Geissler, 2016, Photograph. Field Guide Amph. Rept. Lowland S. Vietnam: 50–51.
