Leptobrachium guangxiense Fei, Mo, Ye, and Jiang In Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 251. Holotype: CIB 20050050, by original designation. Type locality: "Pinglongao (107° 53′ E, 21° 50′ N) of Shangsi Co., Guangxi Prov., China, altitude 500 m".

Guangxi Pseudomoustache Toad (Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 186).

Guangxi Spadefoot Toad (Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 32).

Distribution

Known from the type locality (Pinglongao, Shangsi County, Guangxi Province, China, elevation 480 to 530 m elevation) as well as Vin Phuc, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, and Tuyen Quang provinces, northern Vietnam (see comment); expected in eastern Laos.

Reported, prior to its naming, as Leptobrachium hainanense for Guangxi by Mo and Zou, 2005, Herpetol. Sinica, 10: 89. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 158-159, provided a brief account including photographs of specimens and habitat. Chen, Zhang, Zhou, Li, Huang, and Mo, 2013, Zootaxa, 3641: 31-40, regarded the Leptobrachium "chapaense" population at Tam Dao, Vietnam, to correspond to Leptobrachium guangxiense on the basis of molecular evidence. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 186–187, provided an account, photographs, and a range map for China. Fei and Ye, 2016, Amph. China, 1: 456–458, provided an account, photograph, and range map for China. Poyarkov, Nguyen, Duong, Gorin, and Yang, 2018, PeerJ, 6 (e5771): 16–17, provided a records for Cat Ba National Park, Hai Phong Province, and Cuc Phuong National Park, Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam. Le, Luong, Pham, Phan, Nguyen, Ziegler, and Nguyen, 2021, Bonn Zool. Bull., 70: 201–219, provided a brief description, natural history notes, and a record from Tuyen Quang Province, Vietnam.
