Gephyromantis (Laurentomantis) ranjomavo Glaw and Vences, 2011, Spixiana, München, 34: 122. Holotype: ZSM 222/2005, by original designation. Type locality: "Camp Simpona (14°2 6.199′ S, 49° 44.601′ E, 1326 m above sea level), Marojejy National Park, northeastern Madagascar".

Distribution

Known from northern Madagascar from the type locality (Camp Simpona, Marojejy National Park, 1326 m elevation) and the southwestern and western foothills of the Tsaratanana Massif (localities Ampotsidy and Manarikoba Forest on the western slope).

This species has been addressed before as Gephyromantis spec. aff. horridus "Marojejy" by Glaw and Vences, 2007, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Madagascar, Ed. 3, and as confirmed candidate species Gephyromantis spec. 11 by Vieites, Wollenberg, Andreone, Köhler, Glaw, and Vences, 2009, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 106: 8267-8272. Vences, Köhler, Crottini, Hofreiter, Hutter, Du Preez, Preick, Rakotoarison, Rancilhac, Raselimanana, Rosa, Scherz, and Glaw, 2022, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 72: 285–286, discussed the systematics, molecular markers, advertisement call, and range.
