Type locality: not mentioned in original publication; stated to be Imerina between 47° and 48° E, 19° S [Madagascar], by H. Ludwig in Boettger, 1882, Abh. Naturwiss. Ver. Bremen, 7: 178. Preoccupied by Polypedates microtympanum Günther, 1858, in Rhacophorus.
