Leptodactylus guianensis Heyer and de Sá, 2011, Smithson. Contrib. Zool., 635: 35. Holotype: USNM 531509, by original designation. Type locality: "Guyana; Rupunini, Iwokrama Forest Reserve, Sipuruni River, Pakatau Camp, 4° 45′ 17″ N, 59° 01′ 28″ W, 85 m".

Confused with Leptodactylus bolivianus prior to its naming according to the original publication. Lescure and Marty, 2000, Collect.
