Physalaemus rupestris Caramaschi, Carcerelli, and Feio, 1991, Herpetologica, 47: 148. Holotype: MNRJ 10551, by original designation. Type locality: "Parque Estadual do Ibitipoca, Lima Duarte Municipality (approximately 21°42′ S, 43°53′ W, 1680 m over sea level), State of Minas Gerais, Brazil".

Very similar to Physalaemus deimaticus and not assignable to species group, according to the original publication.
