Edalorhina Perezi Jiménez de la Espada, 1870, J. Sci. Math. Phys. Nat., Lisboa, 3: 58. Type(s): Not stated, presumably in MNCN; MNCN 1673 considered holotype by González-Fernández, García-Díez, and San Segundo, 2009, Spixiana, München, 32: 270. Type locality: "in Ecuador; ad ripas flum. Napo".

Bubonias plicifrons Cope, 1874, Proc. Acad. Nat. Sci. Philadelphia, 26: 124. Syntypes: ANSP (2 specimens), presumably lost as not noted in type list. Type locality: "Nauta", Departamento Loreto, Peru. Synonymy by Dunn, 1949, Am. Mus. Novit., 1416: 1-10.

Edalorhina buckleyi Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 228. Holotype: BMNH, by original designation. Type locality: "Canelos", Ecuador. Synonymy by Dunn, 1949, Am. Mus. Novit., 1416: 1-10.

Distribution

Amazonian Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, and adjacent Brazil.

Monogr., 48: 69, consider this species possibly to occur in Bolivia. Gonzales-Álvarez and Reichle, 2004, Rev. Boliviana Ecol. Conserv. Ambiental, 15: 93–96, provided records for Independencia and Bella Vista, Bolivia.
