Comment

The two nominal subspecies are separated in Ethiopia by the Rift Valley. Largen, 2001, Tropical Zool., 14: 355-356, discussed the types (doubting the provenance of MNHNP 1905.0234). See account and map for Ethiopia by Largen and Spawls, 2010, Amph. Rept. Ethiopia Eritrea: 127-129. Channing, Rödel, and Channing, 2012, Tadpoles of Africa: 242–243, provided information on comparative larval morphology.. Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 315–316, provided a brief account and map.
