Hyperolius schoutedeni Laurent, 1943, Ann. Mus. R. Congo Belge, Tervuren, Zool., 4: 86. Holotype: MRAC 39837, by original designation. Type locality: "Kunungu (s/Congo)", western Dem. Rep. Congo.

Kunungu Reed Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 68).


Roughly the northern half of Dem. Rep. Congo; likely to be found in adjacent Rep. Congo, Central African Republic, and South Sudan.


Related to Hyperolius kivuensis and Hyperolius multifasciatus, according to the original publication, but very similar to Hyperolius cinnamomeoventris, with which it has been commonly confused, according to Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 152.
