Comment

Schiøtz, 1963, Vidensk. Medd. Dansk Naturhist. Foren., 125: 70–71, provided records for Nigeria. Pauwels and Rödel, 2007, Herpetozoa, Wien, 19: 135–148, did not note the species as occurring in Gabon. Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 141–142, provided a brief account and map. See account for Cameroon by Amiet, 2012, Rainettes Cameroun: 343–349. Dewynter and Frétey, 2019, Cah. Fondation Biotope, 27: 24, summarized the literature for Gabon, noting that so far all published records are based on misidentified Hyperolius pardalis, although noting that Hyperolius bolifambae probably will be found in that country. Mali, Banda, Chifundera, Badjedjea, Sebe, Lokasola, Ewango, Tungaluna, and Akaibe, 2019, Am. J. Zool., 2: 38–43, reported the species from the Okapi Wildlife Reserve, northeastern Dem. Rep. Congo. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 190–191, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map. See Portik, Bell, Blackburn, Bauer, Barratt, Branch, Burger, Channing, Colston, Conradie, Dehling, Drewes, Ernst, Greenbaum, Gvoždík, Harvey, Hillers, Hirschfeld, Jongsma, Kielgast, Kouete, Lawson, Leaché, Loader, Lötters, van der Meijden, Menegon, Müller, Nagy, Ofori-Boateng, Ohler, Papenfuss, Rößler, Sinsch, Rödel, Veith, Vindum, Zassi-Boulou, and McGuire, 2019, Syst. Biol., 68: 859–875 (supplemental fig. 1) for phylogenetic placement.
