Removed from the synonymy of Megaelosia goeldii by Giaretta, Bokermann, and Haddad, 1993, J. Herpetol., 27: 276-285, where it had been placed by Lutz, 1930, Mem. Oswaldo Cruz, Rio de Janeiro, 24: 223-249.
