Hylodes regius Gouvêa, 1979, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 39: 855-859. Holotype: MNRJ 4110, by original designation. Type locality: "1.850 metros de altitude, no Ribeirão Brejo da Lapa, Fazenda Céu Azul, em Vargem Grande, Município de Itamonte, estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil".

Comment

In the Hylodes lateristrigatus group of Heyer, 1982, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 95: 377-385. de Sá, Lyra, and Haddad, 2020, Salamandra, 56: 285–295, recollected the species after 35 years, described the advertisement call and larval morphology and placed it in a molecular tree.
