Comment

Cochran, 1955 "1954", Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 206: 284, considered this species to be a synonym of Hylodes lateristrigatus. Heyer, 1982, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 95: 377-385, pointed out the difficulties in the allocation of this name to a particular population. Excluded from the Hylodes lateristrigatus group by Heyer and Cocroft, 1986, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 99: 100-109. In the Hylodes glaber group of Haddad, Pombal, and Bastos, 1996, Copeia, 1996: 965-969.
