Scinax tymbamirim Nunes, Kwet, and Pombal, 2012, Copeia, 2012: 565. Holotype: MNRJ 49188, by original designation. Type locality: "Brazil, Santa Catarina, Municipality of Florianópolis, Córrego Grande, 27° 35′ S, 48° 31′ W, at sea level".

Coastal lowlands, hillsides, and highlands up to 1000 m elevation, from southern Rio de Janeiro to Rio Grande do Sul states.

In the Scinax ruber clade and confused with Scinax alter prior to its naming according to the original publication, and where a brief description of the advertisement call was provided, and who noted that Bokermann, 1967, An. Acad. Brasil.
