Scinax constrictus Lima, Bastos, and Giaretta, 2005, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 62: 506. Holotype: MNRJ 31205, by original designation. Type locality: "BRAZIL—Goiás: Municipality of Palmeiras (16° 48′ S; 49° 55′ W), Sítio dos Pinheiros".

Municipalities of Guapó, Itaberai, Jussara, Mossâmedes, Palmeiras, Pirenópolis, Pontalina, Porangatu, and Uirapuru, in the state of Goíás, southeastern Tocantíns, Municipality of Limeira do Oestes, Minas Gerais, and the municipality of Corumbá in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.
