Comment

See Caramaschi and Cruz, 1998, Rev. Brasil. Zool., 15: 929-944, for revalidation, resurrection from the synonymy of Pseudis paradoxa (where it had been placed by Gallardo, 1961, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 125: 118) and account. De la Riva, 1999, Brit. J. Herpetol., 68: 14-19, discussed this species as a race of Pseudis paradoxa, but did not address the taxonomic issue.
