Hyla picadoi Dunn, 1937, Copeia, 1937: 164. Holotype: MCZ 16002, by original designation. Type locality: "Volcan Barba, [southwestern slope, Cantón de Santa Barbara, Provincia de Heredia,] Costa Rica, a little above the farm of Manuel Acosta, 2140 m". Savage, 1974, Rev. Biol. Tropical, 22: 84, commented on the type locality.

Elevations of 1900–2650 m in the Cordillera Central and Cordillera de Talamanca in Costa Rica and western Panama.
