Comment

See comments under Hyla for access to relevant literature. Removed from the synonymy of Hyla by Duellman, Marion, and Hedges, 2016, Zootaxa, 4104: 23 (who could find no morphological synapomorphies), where it had been placed by Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 373. Previously, Dryophytes had been treated as a subgenus of Hyla by Fouquette and Dubois, 2014, Checklist N.A. Amph. Rept.: 331–332. On the basis of phylogenetic analysis of the mitogenome Zhang, Luu, Yu, Zhang, Al-attar, and Storey, 2019, Int. J. Biol. Macromolecules, 132: 461–469, suggested the relationship of Dyophytes versicolor + ((Dyophytes japonicusDyophytes ussuriensis) + (Dyophytes suweonensisDyophytes immaculatus)). Borzée, Messenger, Chae, Andersen, Groffen, Kim, An, Othman, Ri, Nam, Bae, Ren, Li, Chuang, Yi, Shin, Kwon, Jang, and Min, 2020, PLoS One, 15(6: e0234299): 1–34, revised the species of the Korean peninsula and delimited the Dryophtyes immaculatus group.
