Hypsiboas bandeirantes Caramaschi and Cruz, 2013, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 8: 122. Holotype. CFBH 1002, by original designation. Type locality: "Itapecerica da Serra (23° 43’ S, 46° 51’ W; 906 m elevation; datum WGS84), State of S.o Paulo, southeastern Brazil".

Distribution
Extreme south of the State of Rio de Janeiro and northeastern State of São Paulo, Brazil, at elevations above 400 m
Comment
In the Hypsiboas polytaenius clade of the Hypsiboas pulchellus group, and previously confused with Hypsiboas polytaenius, according to the original publication.
