Comment

In the Hyla albosignata group according to the original publication. In the Aplastodiscus albosignatus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 82. Lima, Skuk, and Silva, 2006, Herpetol. Rev., 37: 485, provided the record for Alagoas and detailed records from Bahia. Berneck, Haddad, Lyra, Cruz, and Faivovich, 2016, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 97: 213–223, placed this species (and its unnamed sister species) as the sister taxon of remaining Aplastodiscus, rendering the former Aplastodiscus albosignatus group paraphyletic.
