Comment

In the Limnonectes kuhlii complex according to the original publication. Ziegler, Rauhaus, Tran, Pham, van Schingen, Dang, Le, and Nguyen, 2015, Sauria, Berlin, 37: 11–44, provided a genetically confirmed locality at Vin Phuc Province, Vietnam and described the larva. Nguyen, Tapley, Cutajar, Nguyen, Portway, Harding, Luong, and Rowley, 2019, Proc. 4th Natl. Sci. Conf. Amph. Rept. Vietnam: 135–140, reported the species from Lao Cai Province on Mount Fansipan, Hoang Lien National Park, and discussed the overall range. Pham, Phan, Do, and Nguyen, 2019, Tap-Chi-Sinh-Hoc, 41 (2se1&2se2): 173–174, reported a collection site in Cham Chu Nature Reserve, Tuyen Quang Province, Vietnam, and described the specimens, provided a photograph and ecological notes, and summarized the range in Vietnam by province. Le and Do, 2019, Hnue J. Sci., Nat. Sci., Hanoi, 64: 141–147, reported the species from Yen Bai Province, northwestern Vietnam and provided a range map. Liu, Mo, and Rao, 2022, Herpetozoa, Wien, 35: 1–7, provided the first record from China (Daweishan Nature Reserve, southern Yunnan, China). The authors also provided a Bayesian inference tree of the species of the genus based on 900 bp of 16s mtDNA. Pham, Nguyen, Le, Pham, and Nguyen, 2023, VNU J. Sci. Earth Environ. Sci., 39: 105–111, provided a dot map of known locations and modeled the distribution that suggested that the species might enter extreme northeastern Laos and that the records for southern Yunnan, China and Tam Dao (Lao Cai Province) and Xian Son (Phu Tho Province) of Vietnam, should be investigated as possibly belonging to unnamed lineages.
