Comment

See Boulenger, 1920, Rec. Indian Mus., 20: 55; Taylor, 1962, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 43: 412-417; Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 274-276; and Berry, 1975, Amph. Fauna Peninsular Malaysia: 68-69, for discussion. Chanda, 2002, Handb. Indian Amph.: 113-114, provided a brief account (as Rana hascheana). See brief account and photo by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 119-120. Orlov, Murphy, Ananjeva, Ryabov, and Ho, 2002, Russ. J. Herpetol., 9: 90, considered the records for Vietnam to be doubtful but included Vietnam in the stated distribution (the records presumably assignable to Limnonectes limborgi). Nutphund, 2001, Amph. Thailand: 131, provided a brief characterization and photograph. Chan-ard, 2003, Photograph. Guide Amph. Thailand: 144-145, provided a very brief account, map for Thailand, and photograph. Reported (as Taylorana hascheana) for Pulau Langkawi, Kadeh, northwestern West Malaysia, by Grismer, Youmans, Wood, Ponce, Wright, Jones, Johnson, Sanders, Gower, Yaakob, and Lim, 2006, Hamadryad, 30: 61-74. Dutta, 1997, Amph. India Sri Lanka: 166, stated the species to occur in the Andamans (without a specific locality) and provided a partial taxonomic bibliography. Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Gururaja, and Bhatta, 2009, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, Occas. Pap., 302: 26, regarded the species as occurring in the Andamans. Inger and Stuart, 2010, Curr. Herpetol., Kyoto, 29: 51-68, reported on the systematics of this species and the closely related Limnonectes limborgi and redelimited the ranges of both, thereby rendering doubtful identifications in a considerable amount of previous literature. See brief account by Grismer, 2012, Field Guide Amph. Rept. Seribuat Arch.: 69-70, for the Seribuat Archipelago, West Malaysia. Sumarli, Grismer, Anuar, Muin, and Quah, 2015, Check List, 11(4, Art. 1679): 9, reported specimens from Mount Tebu, Terregganu, West Malaysia, and briefly reported on their morphology and habitat.
