Baluchistan (Pakistan) and Kashmir (Pakistan and India) to Afghanistan.
Suggested in the original publication to form the sister taxon of a group referred to as Nanorana by Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297. Che, Hu, Zhou, Murphy, Papenfuss, Chen, Rao, Li, and Zhang, 2009, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 50: 59-73, did not address the phylogenetic placement of this taxon.
