Lower Amazonian slopes of the Andes in Peru, 400-1500 m; possibly in adjacent Ecuador and Bolivia.


Morales, 1994, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 8: 100, provided an account. De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 57, and Köhler, 2000, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 48: 69, considered this species possibly to occur in Bolivia. Rivero and Almendáriz C., 1992 "1991", Politécnica, Quito, 16: 114, thought this species might extend into Ecuador.
