Mannophryne trujillensis Vargas Galarce and La Marca, 2007 "2006", Herpetotropicos, Mérida, 3: 52. Holotype: ULABG 1160, by original designation. Type locality: "Paseo Los Ilustres, Quebrada Los Cedros, 850 m. elevation, 9° 21′ 46.0 N, 70° 26′ 41.8 W., Trujillo [City], Estado Trujillo, Venezuela".

Semi-deciduous forests in the valley of the Castán river in the eastern versant of the Cordillera de Mérida in the Venezuelan Andes, state of Trujillo, Venezuela.
