Eleutherodactylus avius Myers and Donnelly, 1997, Am. Mus. Novit., 3213: 38. Holotype: AMNH 131481, by original designation. Type locality: "from forest at the north base of Pico Tamacuari, 1160-1200 m elevation, Sierra Tapirapecó, Amazonas, Venezuela (1° 13′ N, 64° 42′ W)".

Distribution

Known only from the type locality on the Sierra Tapirapecó, Amazonas, Venezuela; possibly extending into Brazil on that side of the mountain.

Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to the original publication, similar to Eleutherodactylus cantitans. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. See Barrio-Amorós, Rojas-Runjaic, and Señaris, 2019, Amph.
