Hyalinobatrachium esmeralda Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1998, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 22: 579. Holotype: ICN 9598, by original designation. Type locality: "[Colombia,] Departamento de Boyacá, municipio de Pajarito, Inspección Policía Corinto, finca 'El Descano', quebrada 'La Limonita', 1600-1650 m".
