Bufo bergi Céspedez, 2000 "1999", FACENA, 15: 75. Holotype: UNNEC 02790, by original designation. Type locality: "área periurbana de la ciudad de Corrientes (27° 25′ S; 58° 45′ W), Departamento Capital, provincia de Corrientes, Argentina".

Distribution

Chaco Region of Paraguay and northern Argentina as well as in Corumbá, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil.

Comment

Prior to its description considered to be Argentinian populations of Rhinella pygmaea. In the Bufo granulosus group according to the original publication. Narvaes and Rodrigues, 2009, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 40: 1-73, revised the Rhinella granulosa group, provided a species account and map, and noted hybridization with Rhinella major in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Guerra, Baldo, Rosset, Borteiro, and Kolenc, 2011, Zootaxa, 3092: 26-42, also documented a hybrid zone with Rhinella major in northern Argentina.
