Osornophryne sumacoensis Gluesenkamp, 1995, Herpetologica, 51: 269. Holotype: QCAZ 4570, by original designation. Type locality: "2500 m on slope of crater 5 km east of summit of Volcán Sumaco (00° 35′ S, 77° 37′ W), Provincia Napo, Ecuador.

Distribution
Known only from the cloud forest around a small crater lake at 2500 m on the eastern slopes of Volcán Sumaco, Napo Province, Ecuador.
