Comment

See comments on distribution and natural history by Gorzula and Señaris, 1999 "1998", Scient. Guaianae, 8: 20. Confused with Oreophrynella quelchii prior to its description. Barrio-Amorós, 2004, Rev. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 200. Kok, MacCulloch, Means, Roelants, Van Bocxlaer, and Bossuyt, 2012, Curr. Biol., 22: R589-R590, implied that Oreophrynella nigra is conspecific with Oreophrynella quelchii.
